The Perfect Pregnant Food

I am convinced that cold cereal is the most wonderful meal in the world right now. I eat it for breakfast, snacks, lunch, sometimes even dinner. It works anytime even at 3AM! It is fast, easy, fills you up, and there are no cooking smells.

It has been for the last week the only food that kept in the apartment while were were packing for the move back to Ohio and the new house. Even now as I am in a hotel - what did I buy last night - cereal. The geniuses at the cereal companies even sell it in pre-measured and packaged cups so all you have to do is add milk.

This is a most wonderful invention for the traveling pregnant lady! All hail cereal and milk!

Picture Perfect! - Week 8

Today we had our very first ultrasound. Everything went extremely well. Everyone at the Dr. office was very nice especially the nurse/tech, Mary, that performed the actual procedure. I was not prepared for the amount of gel that they slather all over you but at least it was warm and not cold.

The husband of course was there and was prepared like all great techie dads-to-be with his camera bag in tow. The nurse was a bit concerned about the camera but said it was ok as long as she wasn't in the pics. In the end - we really didn't end up taking pics of me with gel all over my tummy and since we got a pic in the end we were very happy with the whole thing. In the end not only was I crying but I was just happy to go to the bathroom, since I had to guzzle down more than 2 pints of water an hour before the procedure - I was ready to float away!

So everything is exactly where it is supposed to be. The baby is actually in there and is not in the fallopian tube or anything but is rather comfy in the uterus. We got to see the heart beating! The heartbeat was 171 beats/min. It was totally amazing. I couldn't believe that there is an actual person in there. It sure doesn't feel like a whole person is in there yet. Our targeted due date was confirmed for April 17, 2007. Right now the baby is about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch long, so think raspberry or large peanut M&M.

In the pic below you can see the outline of the uterus and the head is on the right hand side of the "baby blob".
