The Home Stretch - 28 Weeks! Nursery and Baby Pics!!

The nesting has finally begun! This past week the husband and Logoann painted the nursery. They were wonderful! I wasn't even allowed anywhere near the paint fumes. But I guess they also wanted to keep me away in case I freaked out about the color, which I am sure that I would have - I did get to help tape however. It took me a little while even after the room was all dry to get used to it. But even the pic doesn't do the room justice, I think the lighting in the room needs to be adjusted. According to Logoann we need a lower wattage bulb since the overhead light makes it look a little harsh. In the daytime the colors look playful and at night they tone down.

By the way - the darker green was called 'Frolic' from Sherwin Williams. And we got the best paint they make, only the best for our little one. Apparently we can draw on the walls with magic marker and wipe it all clean with only a wet sponge. The border is from Eric Carle's book The Hungry Caterpillar, so that's our theme.

The next item on the nesting agenda - putting together the furniture. I built the changing table the other day and we already have the bookshelf put together. Next comes the dresser and crib. Hopefully we will have all the furniture put together by this weekend.

Isn't nesting great!

This past Tuesday we also had our 28 week Dr. visit. We are officially in the 3rd Trimester now! It's so hard to believe in 12 weeks or less the baby will actually be here! This week the baby is 3 lbs. 7 oz. and he can open his eyes. He is at the top of the percentile for the growth charts, so it looks like he will be a big baby! During the ultrasound, he was even winking and sticking his tongue out at us! We also got some really great face pics of the baby. I included one below. Enjoy!

The room is adorable. Don't think even for a second that the color is over the top. Remember, babies can't see the full spectrum of color for awhile. And the baby! How adorable!
