Firsts

I guess having a little one means going through a lot of firsts. First sneezes, first hiccups, first boo boo etc. This week we are going through our first episode of sniffles. So little man has his very first cold. So pittiful, i feel so badly for him especially since both the husband and myself also have the sniffles. So we are just one pitiful family this week but we will get through it!

We are also trying to work toward sleeping in our crib and staying there through the night, so think of us while you are sleeping soundly in your warm comfy beds, as we try to survive the nights. We have decided that as much as the husband and I love the baby we can't be human mattresses for him forever and we all need to sleep in our beds. I do so love holding him while he sleeps though. Phatfrog who is truly my guardian angel was here for a few days from California this week to help get us started on the whole sleeping in the crib through the night thing. She was absolutely wonderful and helped us to stay on track with shopping and napping and such. It was so wonderul and fun to have another adult to talk to through the day and help with the baby. I will miss her so much but I am so happy and thankful for her visit!

On other horizons we have mommy and daddy's first trip without the little man. We are going to L.A. next weekend for Star Wars Celebration. Are we crazy or what? So little man gets an extended trip to Grandma's house on his own. God help me - I'll probably be on the phone with grandma the whole trip to check on the baby.

By the way this blog entry was written with the help of the little man himself. He is laying in mommy's left arm while I type righthanded - not an east feat for a lefthanded person let me tell you. Another first, mommy surfing and blogging while holding the little man. Daddy mastered this a long while ago of course.

So much for firsts this week! I am sure there will be many many more!

La! Sleeping in the crib is great for your own sleep enhancement. Call me callous, but I just don't get the whole co-sleeping deal.
